MONDAY

Youth Draw & Paint with Theresa Miles
For kids who like to draw and paint, this course provides an in-depth introduction to drawing and painting materials, allowing students to create in their own style, at their own developmental level. Mediums used are pencils, charcoal, pastels, chalk pastels, colored pencil, markers, crayons, tempera and acrylic paints. A great experience for young artists with their eyes on Bak. Ages 6-12.

2D/3D Paper Engineering with Fernando Porras

Wheel I on Mondays with Jay Hatfield (Teens & Adults)
This course will introduce creating functional ceramics on the wheel. Emphasis is on aesthetics of form and glaze application. Includes demonstrations, critiques and current and historical concerns in the world of ceramics. Learn to make plates, cups and bowls. Class can be repeated until the student is ready for more advanced coursework. Ages 13 to adult.

Art for the Homeschooled Ages 9-12 with Peggy Pro
This certified course is designed for the homeschooled student to provide an enriching experience in the many fields of art and art history. Students build and develop a foundation of skills by learning and working through the essential elements and principles of art. Ages 9-12.

Art School Prep with Randall Scott
Designed for both middle school and high school students, this course provides challenging, advanced techniques in drawing and painting. This course is exceptional for young artists wishing to hone their skills for admission to Dreyfoos School of the Arts or an undergraduate college art program. Ages 12-18, level of student: serious.

Kid’s Clay with Maria Tritico
Students learn hand-building ceramic techniques, focusing on different building, glazing and firing methods, with an introduction to the  potter’s wheel as well. Ages 6-12.

2D/3D Paper Engineering with Fernando Porras
No previous computer experience needed! Using the friendliest of computer design software, your design is sent to a digital paper cutter within minutes. Create and fabricate fantastic pop-up cards and books, develop toys and projects, experiment with architectural 3D models, or simply create beautiful art pieces. Ages 10-18. (First 6 students will have access to a house computer, additional students will need to supply their personal laptop.)

Through personal instruction and class demonstrations, the students will learn safety procedures, drilling, piercing, rivets, patination, texture application, how to safely use a torch, soldering and stone setting techniques. Each student will create technical samples and then apply the knowledge gained into wearable pieces of jewelry. Ages 13-18.
