Sculpting the Draped Figure
The class is taught by working sculptor Eduardo Gomez. In this intermediate class, the students will be sculpting from a live model, with a concentration on draping by analyzing the effect of body position and movement on clothing. We will study different types of clothing and how they fold, and make quick studies of different types of folds. The main focus is understanding the dynamics of different types of clothing. The class includes a 25-pound bag of water-based clay, as well as the firing of the student’s pieces.

Whimsical Sculpture
Tap into your creativity as we use sculpture as a form of imaginative expression. We will build a sofa or chair, which will be accompanied by a sculpted form of your creation. Learn how to make distinguishable surfaces with the aid of brushes, sponges, stamps, and heavy cloth.
