Susan Bardin
A resident of Tequesta, Susan is Vice President and Director of Interior Design at Peacock + Lewis, AIA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the University of Florida and has provided design services for many corporate, educational, hospitality, and health-care facilities for over 25 years. Susan is a licensed Interior Designer in the State of Florida and a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
Sally Bliss
Sally resides in The Loxahatchee Club in Jupiter, FL, with her husband, George Whiteley. She was born in Washington, D.C., grew up in New Jersey, and spent most of her career in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, with a concentration in Communications and Marketing from Ohio University. Sally spent 19 years in the cosmetic industry, holding executive positions for several well-known brands. Sally then moved into financial services, becoming a Vice President for Bernstein Research and Investment Management and Senior Vice President at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, where she has been for over 15 years. Sally serves on the Professional Advisors Council of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Lighthouse ArtCenter provides a venue that supports Sally’s belief that developing an appreciation for the arts and having a creative outlet is important to one’s health and well-being. Sally loves to play golf, read, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
Laurel Brower
A devoted student at Lighthouse ArtCenter, Laurel Brower enthusiastically studies with a variety of art instructors. She was born in Pennsylvania, raised in Littleton, Colorado, and currently resides in The Loxahatchee Club in Jupiter, Florida, with her husband William Brower. In addition to obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University, Mrs. Brower studied at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Ringling School of Art in North Carolina. She also has served a variety of positions, such as President, Vice President, and Treasurer for the league of Women Voters, Woman’s Club, Pony Club, 4H and Bald Peak Colony Club. Mrs. Brower’s passion for the arts, golf, and raising horses led her to be part of several affiliations, such as American Quarter Horse Association, United States Equine Federation, United States Golf Association, The Loxahatchee Club, and the Lighthouse ArtCenter. Passionate about painting her favorite subjects, dog and horse portraits, she also enjoys golf and skiing in her spare time.
Patricia DeAloia, President
An active member of the community, Pat DeAloia has served on several fundraising committees and is presently on two community boards. Patricia was born and raised in Washington, DC., and is married to Blaise DeAloia. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Business Management and MBA, both from the University of Maryland. She founded and was CEO of Integrated Technologies, Inc., specializing in advanced technology enterprise network engineering, primarily for the Department of Defense. After more than 30 years in the information technology business, Mrs. DeAloia sold her business in 2007 to retire and is now an avid golfer. She is also a football fan and enjoys traveling. Mrs. DeAloia is a member of Annapolis Yacht Club, Tucker’s Point Club (Bermuda,) Jupiter Hills Club, Navy Golf club and served on committees and boards for Annapolis Harbour Associations, Claridge Homeowners, Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, Hospice of the Chesapeake, and is a member of an Annapolis Ladies Book Club.
Nancy DiPierro
Nancy is a Manager at First Republic Bank’s Jupiter Preferred Banking Office. Prior to joining, she served as Vice President/ Manager of TD Bank in Jupiter for six years. She has been in the finance industry for more than 25 years and has a strong client base and connection to the Jupiter community. Nancy is also very active in local nonprofit organizations such as Anglers for the Cure and the Andrew Harris Foundation. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration in Accounting from Hunter College in New York.
Debbie Kane
A resident of Singer Island, FL and Glenshaw, PA, Ms. Kane has a BS in Speech Pathology & Audiology from Western Michigan University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. She’s worked for companies like Corning and Sherwin-Williams before taking time to raise her children and volunteer for various charities, like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Fox Chapel Newcomers. Her husband of 34 years, Jim, is a retired CEO of Pittsburgh-Corning Corporation in Pittsburgh.
Peter Lawson-Johnston
Honorary Chairman of The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, Senior Partner at Guggenheim Brothers, Chairman of The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation. A grandson of Solomon R. Guggenheim, since 1964 Mr. Lawson-Johnston has been a Trustee of The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation-which currently operates Guggenheim Museums in New York, Bilbao, Berlin and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy. He served as Vice President-Business Administration of the Foundation from 1965-1969, as President from 1969-1995, Chairman from 1995-1998 and Honorary Chairman 1998 to present. Having served as President of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection Advisory Board for many years, he serves as President Emeritus (2011-present).
Mr. Lawson-Johnston graduated from The Lawrenceville School, in New Jersey, in 1945. He served two years in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1951 and took a position as a reporter for the Baltimore Sun until 1953. Mr. Lawson-Johnston was Public Information Director at the Maryland Defense Agency from 1954 to 1956. In 1956 Mr. Lawson-Johnston joined the Feldspar Corporation. He became a Director of Feldspar in 1959 and Director of Zemex Corp. (formerly Pacific Tin Consolidated Corp.) in 1960. Mr. Lawson-Johnston has been the Senior Partner at his family holding company, Guggenheim Brothers, since 1971, having joined the firm as a Partner in 1962. He has been a Director of The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation since 1968 and Chairman of the Foundation since 1971. In addition, Mr. Lawson-Johnston is President and Director of Elgerbar Corporation. He served as Chairman of the University of Virginia Art Museum Advisory Board from 1997 to 2005 and Chairman Emeritus until 2008; and is a former Director of National Review.
Mr. Lawson-Johnston is a recipient of the Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney Award, presented by the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1986; the Lawrenceville Medal, presented by the Lawrenceville School in 1997. He is an active member of the Century Association, the Brook Club and the Links Club in New York City, and the Jupiter Island Club in Hobe Sound, FL and Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach. He is the author of Growing Up Guggenheim, A Personal History of a Family Enterprise, published in May 2005. Married to Dede Hammond Lawson-Johnston, the Lawson-Johnstons have four children, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Colette Meyer, Esq. Colette K. Meyer established Meyer Law Firm in 1998 after having been counsel with the international law firm of Donavan, Leisure, Newton & Irvine, in their Palm Beach, Florida office. Ms. Meyer also built her legal foundation as an attorney with New York firms Mudge, Rose, Guthrie, Alexander & Ferdon and Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle in their Jupiter offices. Ms. Meyer holds a B.S. in Biology from Carleton College in Minnesota and, while obtaining her law degree from Wisconsin Law School, she worked for the Wisconsin Attorney General. Ms. Meyer’s practice assists families in securing their future by focusing on Trust and Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration, and Real Estate transactions. Ms. Meyer has been involved in the arts community since becoming a resident of Jupiter in 1985. Ms. Meyer is a past President of the Lighthouse Art Center and introduced the popular 3rd Thursdays which she continues to generously sponsor.
Jane O’Neill, Secretary
Jane has been a student at the ArtCenter for several years. She has had the opportunity to take classes in different media from its outstanding faculty. Recently, she has decided her real passion is oil painting in Plein Air. She received her bachelor of science in Education from The Ohio State University and has a master of science in Special Education from Pennsylvania State University. After retiring from teaching in the public school system, Jane became an active volunteer in teaching adult literacy and English as a second language. She has been involved in the arts and has various cultural affiliations in Pennsylvania, New York, and Florida, serving in some capacity as either a volunteer or as a member. Jane and her husband are residents of Jupiter, Fla., and maintain a second home in Doylestown, Pa.
Anne Palumbo
A resident of Jupiter Island (and Maryland), Anne is an art historian who received her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in 1982. She has been a board member of many nonprofits, in addition to serving on the board of the Lighthouse ArtCenter. Her career includes: professional lecturer, Department of Art, George Washington University; Smithsonian Fellow, Smithsonian Museum of American Art; and director, Art in Public Places, Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Frederick Putney, Ph.D, President Emeritus
Frederick Putney was born in Missoula, Montana, and attended the University of Washington. He served in the U.S. Navy for five years following graduation before obtaining his Ph.D. from Stanford University. Fred served on the faculty of Columbia Business School for 40 years, originating a course in Investment Strategies and additionally serving as Deputy Vice President for the Health Services Campuses of the university. He is the co-founder of Riverside Group, which provides corporate training and development to major institutions and nonprofit organizations. He also co-founded Brownson & Associates (Brownson, Rehmus & Foxworth’s predecessor organization) in 1969, having developed the proprietary “Base Case” software, still used today by BRF in its updated version.
Martha (Martie) Sachs
Martie has been an active business executive and a long-time supporter of various civic and charitable organizations. She and her husband, Bob, have their primary home in Juno Beach, Florida, and also enjoy homes in Birmingham, Michigan and in Stratford, Ontario. They have two married children and five grandchildren. From 1990 to 2001 Martie served as Vice President of Operations at Arden Companies, a company founded with Bob in 1964 that manufactures home furnishings. From 1978 to 1990 she worked at Cooperative Services, Inc., a non-profit consumer housing cooperative with more than 5,000 members, serving as the Director of Development and Co-General Manager. As an enthusiastic supporter of the Stratford Festival of Canada, Martie has, from 1999 to 2018, served in various volunteer capacities, including Chair of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival of America Board from 2010-2012. She was elected to the Festival's Board of Governors in 2016. Martie has a Bachelor of Arts degree (1963, minor in art history) and Master of Arts (1978, in gerontology) from Wayne State University. She has a lifelong love of the arts.
Jennifer Schorr, Vice President
A native of upstate New York, Jennifer is a winter resident of Jupiter and summer resident of Sea Girt, NJ. After earning her BA in English Literature from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from Binghamton University (State University of New York), she worked as a systems analyst for Corning, Inc and IBM. She then served as University Registrar and Special Assistant to the Provost at Binghamton University, retiring in 2009. Jennifer served on numerous nonprofit boards in Binghamton, including United Health Services Foundation, Association for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment, Binghamton Philharmonic, and Women's Fund of South Central NY. She has served on the Lighthouse ArtCenter Plein Air committee since its inception. Jennifer has taken numerous drawing and painting classes at the Lighthouse ArtCenter and is particularly interested in portraiture. She also loves literature, music, and travel.
Edward Simpson
Ed grew up in the family construction business in Massachusetts. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in Business Administration and was employed by IBM for fifteen years. Ed took an early retirement and returned to his first love - construction and real estate investing. He and his wife Joan reside in Juno Beach, where they manage their commercial real estate portfolio and VC Start-Up Fund. They both love to do adventure traveling and have collected art from many of the countries they have visited.
Susan Namm Spencer
A resident of Jupiter (and Larchmont, New York), Susan graduated with a B.S. degree in Mass Communications from Emerson College. Her past work experience includes fifteen years of various Vice Presidential management and marketing assignments at Citibank/ Citigroup. She also served as CEO and Marketing Director of two (New York and Connecticut) HMOs. Board assignments have included the YWCA of Greater New York City, The National Advisory Council of the Conservation Fund, Surprise Lake Camp, and Emerson College. A strong advocate of children’s programs, Susan participated in the Guardian Ad Litem volunteer program in Palm Beach County and continues her twelve-year, weekly commitment to the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County, where she is a reading specialist for Head Start children.
Diane Tohn
Diane has a BA from Smith College and a Masters in Education from Columbia University, Teacher’s College. She has served on the boards of several groups, including the Larchmont Temple School Board. She was a real estate investment manager, an art consultant, an elementary school teacher, and the Director of Program Evaluation and Research at Mamaroneck Public Schools.
Robert Trevisani
Robert Trevisani was born in Boston, Ma., attended Boston College, Boston College School of Law, and New York University Graduate School of Law. He practiced international law and was an adjunct professor of law at Boston University Graduate School of Law and Boston College Law School, where he served as a member of its Board of Overseers. He was admitted to the bars of Massachusetts , New York and the District of Columbia. He was Chair of the General Practice Section and member of the Management Committee and Governing Council of the International Bar Association headquartered in London, England, representing more than 1.5 million lawyers from 150 countries. Mr. Trevisani has served on the board of directors of several public and private companies. He is the founder and President of the Commonwealth Charitable Fund, Inc., a nonprofit organization the mission of which is to foster leadership through education. Robert and his wife Helen Patricia reside in Jupiter, FL and have four children. They are members of the Jonathans Landing and Hyannisport golf clubs and the St Botolph Club in Boston. He is a student at the Lighthouse Art Center, where he studies landscape painting.
Roseanne Williams
Roseanne was born in Massachusetts and currently resides on Jupiter Island and Newport, Rhode Island with her husband Dennis. She had a 20-year professional career in Human Relations working for Varian Associates and Digital Equipment in the U.S. and U.K. She attended Northeastern University and Salem State College. In 1991, while living in Toronto, she decided to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming an artist. She studied at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, and later the Cincinnati Academy of Art. In 1996, she and her husband moved to Florence, Italy, where she continued her art studies with Alvaro Baragli, a well-known Florentine artist. Since becoming a Florida resident in 2005, she has become a member of the Jupiter Medical Center Foundation Ball Committee, and a board member of the Jupiter Island Resident’s Association. She is the founder of “Future Players,” an after school music program at Banner Lake in Hobe Sound for children who are at risk.

Ed took an early retirement and returned to his first love - construction and real estate investing. He and his wife Joan reside in Juno Beach, where they manage their commercial real estate portfolio and VC Start-Up Fund. They both love to do adventure traveling and have collected art from many of the countries they have visited.
Susan Namm Spencer
A resident of Jupiter (and Larchmont, New York), Susan graduated with a B.S. degree in Mass Communications from Emerson College. Her past work experience includes fifteen years of various Vice Presidential management and marketing assignments at Citibank/ Citigroup. She also served as CEO and Marketing Director of two (New York and Connecticut) HMOs. Board assignments have included the YWCA of Greater New York City, The National Advisory Council of the Conservation Fund, Surprise Lake Camp, and Emerson College. A strong advocate of children’s programs, Susan participated in the Guardian Ad Litem volunteer program in Palm Beach County and continues her twelve-year, weekly commitment to the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County, where she is a reading specialist for Head Start children.
Diane Tohn
Diane has a BA from Smith College and a Masters in Education from Columbia University, Teacher’s College. She has served on the boards of several groups, including the Larchmont Temple School Board. She was a real estate investment manager, an art consultant, an elementary school teacher, and the Director of Program Evaluation and Research at Mamaroneck Public Schools.
Robert Trevisani
Robert Trevisani was born in Boston, Ma., attended Boston College, Boston College School of Law, and New York University Graduate School of Law. He practiced international law and was an adjunct professor of law at Boston University Graduate School of Law and Boston College Law School, where he served as a member of its Board of Overseers. He was admitted to the bars of Massachusetts , New York and the District of Columbia. He was Chair of the General Practice Section and member of the Management Committee and Governing Council of the International Bar Association headquartered in London, England, representing more than 1.5 million lawyers from 150 countries. Mr. Trevisani has served on the board of directors of several public and private companies. He is the founder and President of the Commonwealth Charitable Fund, Inc., a nonprofit organization the mission of which is to foster leadership through education. Robert and his wife Helen Patricia reside in Jupiter, FL and have four children. They are members of the Jonathans Landing and Hyannisport golf clubs and the St Botolph Club in Boston. He is a student at the Lighthouse Art Center, where he studies landscape painting.
Roseanne Williams
Roseanne was born in Massachusetts and currently resides on Jupiter Island and Newport, Rhode Island with her husband Dennis. She had a 20-year professional career in Human Relations working for Varian Associates and Digital Equipment in the U.S. and U.K. She attended Northeastern University and Salem State College. In 1991, while living in Toronto, she decided to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming an artist. She studied at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, and later the Cincinnati Academy of Art. In 1996, she and her husband moved to Florence, Italy, where she continued her art studies with Alvaro Baragli, a well-known Florentine artist. Since becoming a Florida resident in 2005, she has become a member of the Jupiter Medical Center Foundation Ball Committee, and a board member of the Jupiter Island Resident’s Association. She is the founder of “Future Players,” an after school music program at Banner Lake in Hobe Sound for children who are at risk.
