Volunteer for the Arts!

At the Lighthouse Center for the Arts, volunteerism is an integral part of the overall museum experience. The Docent Society, established in 2000, provides vital support to the Lighthouse Center for the Arts staff in a variety of areas. Docents receive orientation at an informal reception held each fall. The Docent Society and volunteers are used throughout the season to help greet visitors, provide informative guided tours, and assist the staff with various duties as the need arises. Training is offered to those who are interested in becoming more involved through serving as tour guides.

Student volunteers are also welcomed to assist the School of Art staff during off-school hours, with the Summer Camp program and with special events (exhibition openings, galas, concerts) during the season. Credit for Community Service hours is always provided.

For more information about the Docent Society at the Lighthouse Center for the Arts or any other volunteer opportunities, contact Peggy Kirkwood, Visitor Relations Coordinator, at 561.746.3101 or email peggy@lighthousearts.org
