About the Exhibition
Trios, triples, triads, trilogies, triplets, trinities, triptychs. According to the “Rule of Three”, ideas, thoughts, events, characters, or sentences that are presented in threes are more interesting, effective, and memorable. Twenty-three fiber artists from three states — Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina — have combined to respond to the concept of “TRIO”. All artists in “TRIO” are members of the Studio Art Quilt Associates, an international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the art quilt and the artists who create them. Founded in 1989 by a group of 50 artists, SAQA now has more than 4,000 artists, teachers, collectors, gallery owners, museum curators and corporate sponsors as members.
